SLUBH’72 mini-reunion: Food for thought here we are, 50 years removed from our yearbook photo version of ourselves, and indeed, as we met at Emil’s place last Saturday, June 25…all of us were not the same person of yesteryears but…thankfully, we all moved on to what we are now…what the seeds of that “Character makes a man” had blossomed. I am reminded of what the Psalmist declared in 133:1… “Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” This exactly describes what a reunion should be. In one sense, we can go back in time through this reunion…golden at that. For in Emil’s place, it brought back memories and enabled us to see our batchmates with our hearts not just our eyes. Of course not to forget…our spouses’ reunion of some sort. A reunion would be a special moment for everyone… to be a teenager again for a few days. By now, we are beyond showing off…we no longer have anything to prove, so we can relax and be ourselves…believing that we’ve matured and gained a fuller perspective of that “Character makes a man.” Thank you George-Marie, Roli-Bing, Jorly, Rey-Evelyn, Clets-Chona and our host Emil-Ester.
